Return of the dried flowers

We are so excited to be working with dried flowers again. They had gone out of fashion moons ago and were something we all turned our noses up at. They reminded us all of dusty wicker baskets and paper doilies- a proper 80’s throwback, but right now everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon. They are back with a vengeance in an abundance of beautiful colours and a variety of methods used to preserve these delicate blooms.

Always wanting to push our creative boundaries we absolutely love working with dried flowers, preserved roses and silks to create stunning everlasting displays. These are perfect for gifts that last longer than a fresh bouquet or for vast installations as they don’t require a water source. They really are endlessly versatile.

Dried flowers are perfect for the bride wishing to keep their bouquet as a lasting reminder of their day. They are also an excellent alternative for those who have to travel. We are very happy to be able to offer dried flowers for weddings, we are absolutely loving dried bouquets and buttons holes!

In contrast to the muted, dusty tones that spring to mind when you think of dried flowers, there is now a multitude of exciting, bright colours, shapes and textures to choose from. From fluffy grasses to dried palm spears, there are so many elements to get excited about while steering gently away from those classic, delicate dried blooms- although we still love a few elegant sprigs of dried lavender.

But above all, one of our all time favourite things about this returning dried flower trend it is how environmentally friendly they are. Thanks to their long shelf life and biodegradability they have a relatively low carbon footprint. Plus, as a bonus, all of our dried bouquets come wrapped in biodegradable wrapping for the eco conscious among you.

Pop by the workshop and take a look at our dried flower collection or order online. You can buy as bunches or single stems or we can make them into wreaths or hanging arrangements- the possibilities are endless! We’ll be happy to help you pick out just a few stems for a vase at home or if you’re looking for a gift then we think that a dried flower bouquet is an absolutely perfect pick me up or a great way to say happy birthday to a friend.
